*GORGEOUS* High quality Mare. I've been on and off the fence about rehoming Portia for several years now (to no fault of hers). She had many years professional training and was shown before we purchased in 2016 (trained 2nd level dressage/schooling 3rd, shown Halter, Pleasure Hunter+). Noteworthy breeding. Own daughter of Champion Stallion 'Justafire DGL', and Granddaughter of Numaa++ (Dam's side). DNA typed, Sweepstakes Nominated. Portia has lovely conformation and fluid movement. Evaluated as a prospective PSG, National level horse by international Judges. Since we have had Portia, she has mostly been ridden at our private barn. Novice riders with lessons/supervision (14+ years of age-adult), with confident intermediate+ riding on their own after they've shown they can work independently. Portia is well behaved to groom, tack up, and is good in hand. No special needs or health issues. Up to date on shots, de-worming, hoof trim and dental. Well behaved for vetting and farrier (can hold foot up with one finger). Portia gets along with other horses when turned out (can also be by herself) and is also tidy in her stall/paddock area. I have videos of Portia being ridden if you come for a visit (videos don't download well enough to send). She appreciates soft hands and works off your seat with a knowledgeable rider (where you look is where she goes). My first choice of partners is a confident more advanced rider (well-schooled) that can use to full potential, rather than in a lesson program with various riders with different abilities. I don't feel keeping her in a lesson situation is doing her justice. Update 6/11/24: Portia was good having 4 different people ride her yesterday... I just think she'd be happiest being able to bond with 'her person', someone that is looking for a one-on-one partnership with their horse. Portia is a kind and sweet Mare that is deserving of a perfectly suited situation. And don't let her age fool you... she seems like a young horse. An assortment of blankets, leather halter with her name engraved, and other belongings go with her. Multiple visits to get familiar with Portia (and ride), your own pre-purchase exam, and trainer evaluation is welcome. When Portia leaves us (no hurry), we want her new owner to be tickled pink with her. Asking $7000/cash, to a great home and partner. No trades, etc. Please call (three-six-zero)366-3631 (land line, no text), for more information. Thank you.
