PLEASE read entire ad before messaging. Deja was born and raised on a ranch in Kansas and is not afraid of ANYTHING! She is very brave, very smart, and interested in everything! She will go out of her way just to check things out. She is not herd-bound whatsoever. She will go first on trails but doesn't mind being in back. Gets along great with other horses, she is not the boss mare. She has been roped off of and would make an excellent rope horse or used for hunting. She is the absolute best trail horse and very sure footed. She is very quick and can stop and turn on a dime and would make a great barrel horse. She is not lazy and will get up and go when asked but will also be fine just walking along. I believe she will excel at anything! Someday, WITH MORE TIME, she will make an excellent kid, lesson, and husband safe horse. She is young and green still. She is VERY smart, teach her once and she gets it. She respects fences, ties and stands perfectly, amazing ground manners, loads without hesitation, great with farrier. She has great, solid feet. She gives to bit, is light on the mouth, very sensitive and moves off leg, flexes, turns on haunches, HUGE stop. She loves attention. She is PSSM1 and symptomatic if not exercised daily. She requires low sugar hay, low carb, high fat diet. It breaks my heart to sell but I don't have the time I thought I would for her. She MUST be worked DAILY for at least 10 minutes, pasture turnout 24/7 in a dry lot or grazing muzzle is ideal. A stall with a very large run would be fine. She should not ever be on green grass due to her low sugar diet requirement. To manage PSSM, diet and exercise is CRITICAL so she will only go to a home willing and able to manage. Her back end gets stiff and she’s bucked with me twice at the canter when she is not worked and PSSM is not managed. Both times I was warned and didn’t listen. With consistent work she is absolutely amazing and you wouldn’t ever know she had it. Good with tarps, bags, weird objects, ropes, nothing phases her. She will be an excellent trail horse or would go any direction if PSSM is managed correctly! I bought her for a barrel horse but I can not commit to daily work. I will wait for the perfect, forever home for her with someone who understands PSSM or is willing to learn.
