Panda was a broodmare and pasture ornament for the first 14 years of her life until we purchased her last year and immediately put her right to work. Her long back and muscly hind end enable her to have a nice easy lope, and she has had very regular arena work this year. She'd be a great play day horse, as she's super calm around external chaos. We take her swimming and on conditioning rides on the BLM. We have MANY more pictures. We fell in LOVE with her 2 yr old colt, who was a cinch to start and is currently on the market,....and then went back to purchase her. Panda is very independent, trusting, and confident. She is willing to go anywhere and will stand tied to the trailer or fence post for extended time. She loads very easily. She gets in to the trailer to go somewhere every time she is ridden. She is an easy keeper, and is used to riding in an arena where other horses are being worked. She hasn't yet done any parades or been to any shows. We have introduced her to flags on the ground, but haven't ridden her with one yet. As we've contemplated what kind of a career would suit her best, whether it be rodeo, endurance, trail riding, or jumping, we think she would be great at all of them, as long as she loves her person. We feel Panda would best be suited for a teenager or adult with some riding experience, due to her late start under saddle. Panda is registered with the POA registry and is in foal to a 12.2 hand Black & White pony stallion registered with the international Quarter Pony Association. She does not get too attached to her foals however, because when we brought her to our place 4 months after purchasing her 1 1/2 yr old colt....she neither whinnied at him, or really cared to be in his presence. Here in our lesson program, we ride our brood mares up until 2 weeks before foaling, and start mares to work for brief periods away from their babies about 3 weeks after foaling. The babies do great.
