Pearl was recently diagnosed with afib. Ultrasounds of her heart shows it to be healthy and normal and all bloodwork/electrolytes are normal. She can lead a normal, functional life and even be a Grand Prix, upper level WE horse, or low level hunter/jumper. She is NOT suitable for UPPER level Eventing or Jumping as it could "possibly" fatigue her. Afib in horses does not have the complications as in people...and many horses perform well all their lives with it.
Pearl has a wealth of experience. She has over 1000 miles of rugged mountain trails, often doing 20 mile days with packs on and overnight camping. She’s been to the beach and will go into the ocean.
Pearl has competed up to 2nd level at USDF, has competed up to Intermediate A in Working Equitation (WE) and has schooled Advanced level (multiple flying lead changes, rein-back to canter, canter pirouettes, etc...) in Pedro Torres clinics. She has done schooling shows at 3rd level and could easily (with a small amount of tune-up) go out and compete at 4th level or Prix St. George. She has spent years doing clinics with the likes of Jeremy Steinberg, the Valenca’s, Jose Lopes, Carlos Carneiro, Nuno Matos (Pedro Torres Academy), Steve Rother, Nadine O’Sullivan (Legerete), Michael Godding, and more. She has a lovely piaffe, is starting passage, can do 3’s and 4’s with lead changes, canter & walk piroettes, incredible collected canter (departs from walk, halt, and rein-back), and all lateral work. She’s in good, pasture condition and wouldn't take long to get in top shape. She scored in the 70's in WE dressage her last show in June. She has no fear of obstacles. She has been to a number of cow clinics and will work cattle. She will long line and work in hand. She is also trick and liberty trained (bow, rear, come when called, smile, pedestal, goes over jumps that are pointed at)
Pearl is registered with the IDSH and has a life time USDF and USEF registry. She is UTD on everything, is easy for the vet and farrier, trailers very well, gets along with other horses in crowds and in the pasture (she is neither alpha or low-man…just in the middle). She is sweet and kind, loves attention and being groomed, and has an excellent work ethic. She does not bite or kick, buck or rear (unless asked for a rear…as it’s one of her tricks). She has a kind attitude and is affectionate toward people. She’s not marish at all.
Because of Pearl’s large size and immense power, she is best for a professional or very confident amateur who works with a trainer. She has a 10+ canter, is very forward but light in hand, has been trained with Classical French Dressage and Legerete principles, and loves to work. A serious and competitive Dressage or WE show home is preferred as well as horse buddies and good turnout..
She has clean x-rays of her hocks (done June 2019). Contact Adrienne for more information - Go to CareAcresHorses.
