Tucker is a 12 year old Medium, 12.3h Welsh Pony. He has a HUGE personality and loves attention. He is sound, athletic, super smart and loves to do activities. He goes English, Western or bareback.
Tucker has excellent manners and is perfect for the vet and farrier. He is barefoot and has never needed shoes. He is very easy keeper and eats grass hay and a couple hours of pasture. Like most ponies he can get fat and sassy on too much grass. He loads easily, trailers great, bathes, ties. He can be bossy a herd situation. He does well with one or two good buddies.
Tucker’s passion is jumping and he has beautiful form over fences. He jumps 2 6” easily with his currently too big for him rider. He is brave and bold cross country and loves water and swimming. He loves obstacles and playing games. Tucker is good outside the arena, he trail rides quietly alone or in company. He is great on the lead line, sweet and gentle with Littles, does lunge lessons well, but is not a beginner pony off the lead line yet because he has many ideas involving world domination and shrubbery eating.
He does well with an intermediate level rider who can keep him busy. He goes in a full cheek snaffle bit and has never needed more.
Tucker has been ridden in lessons, drill team and parades, he’s good with flags. He is used to dogs, cats, chickens, cows, sheep, and considers all to be friends. My daughter even taught our chihuahua to ride him!
He did 4H with his previous owner and they also did some ground driving with him. He was on the OHSET team last year, competing in dressage, trail, and obstacle relay. He will be shown over fences in the fall and his price will increase with more show mileage. Tucker has been sadly outgrown by his kid. She is moving on to a larger horse but will keep training him until he is sold.
Tucker would do best in an active training environment where he gets lots of attention and gets to do a variety of fun stuff.. He is not a backyard pony to get ignored and pulled out once every couple weeks when the grandkids visit. He is busy and very smart.
