Horse Skills, Disciplines, Attributes
APHA Registered "Sweet Pepper Gal" or Blondie. This girl is a real eye catcher. She is double bred Stormys Sugar on the bottom & Impressive bred (N/N) on top, so she has the working ability of the old time quarter horse & the beauty of the modern day Paint. She is completely broke & loves to go out on the trail, but is great in the arena as well. She was shown Western Pleasure when she was younger but just used for trail riding for the last 15 years. We've trailed in the mountains & on the beach & she's perfect anywhere we ride her. She lunges with or w/out a lunge line & knows all her voice commands. She has great ground manners, clips, ties, loads in the trailer, bathes, stands well for the farrier & is completely sound with or without shoes. We put them on her if we are riding in the mountains, but she is barefoot right now & is just fine. She can sit in the pasture for a year & still be right where she was the year before, when you get her out & throw a saddle on her. They are both UTD on all vaccinations for the year, including West Niles & are current on worming. Both eat alfalfa cubes right now, with salt twice daily to be sure they drink plenty of water & get sand clear once a month. They love quality grass hay as well. I will only place her in a loving home, with no barbed wire, as she goes through it, & where she is loved as much as she is here. I am moving out of state & do not want her in a different climate where there is large hail & tornadoes. I'm doing what is best for my horse & this will not be easy for me so I may be picky about where she goes. She should not be bred at this age or ridden hard as she has only been walked and trotted for the last 15 years on trail rides. She needs to be worked gently, brushed & loved. I've used her for riding lessons, for beginners, in an arena, but don't know that I'd turn her loose on the trail with a beginner on day one. She's fine with my 7 year old granddaughter, even bareback, but on a lunge line. I'm sure with 30 days tuneup she'd be fine, I just haven't had time to ride her anymore. She has one vice, she chews wood unless it's coated or covered with hot wire. She has a shetland pony friend that I'd like to go with her, it's not a deal breaker if you only want her though. They are very attached to each other. He's a gelding & is broke, but not for a beginner rider, as he is a typical ornery shetland pony when being ridden, only stands 9.5 hands. He is dark liver chestnut & is absolutely adorable. He's about 9 or 10 years old I think. He's not mean, doesn't kick or bite, also has good ground manners, even for a young child. My granddaughter has been leading him around & brushing him since she was 2. He clips, ties, loads & stands for farrier.
