Hatchet Jack has a faultless personality…with such a kind soul and an always trainable attitude, it’s really hard not to favor this stunning gelding! - Offered by Mallory Cecil.
Hatchet Jack has been used in all phases of ranch work including tagging calves, pasture doctoring, sorting and loading the chute. You can always count on him for having that outstanding work ethic to last you on those very long days. He handles traveling to new places with ease and confidence. When riding out, he doesn’t have a care in the world as to being in the back of the group, being left behind, leading, or riding out alone. He is traffic safe and is used to cars honking at him as they drive by. Very willing to go through any type of water crossing you may encounter along the way and has no worries crossing bridges. Alongside of his ranch work, we have spent the last 1 1/2 years preparing him for Mounted Patrol work. He has met and exceeded all of our expectations in this department. He worked the Bonnaroo music festival in TN this year, proving himself to have even more potential in this unique part of the horse industry. Hatchet Jack has also been exposed to riding through lanes of fire and we have started doing Mounted Archery with him for fun. On hot summer days, we love taking him to the lake; he’ll pull the tube all day long! Cruise through the town on him; he loves stopping along the way to be admired by everyone. Hatchet Jack also rides English and we believe he would make a fantastic Fox Hunt horse. He gets along great with new horses and has always lived out on pasture full time in a group of horses. He stalls great when you’re traveling down the road and is safe to unload in busy parking lots if you’re hauling a long ways. He wears a size #4 shoe all the way around. No stocks needed, no leaning…Hatchet Jack is very patient and will pick up all of his feet and hold them for as long as you need. He is easy to catch in a large pasture, easy to clip, bathe and will load in any trailer, front or back. Hatchet Jack is also hobble broke, electric fence broke and has been on the high line. Though he is not finished in any one discipline, we have done our best to set him up for whatever future he may have. Whether he be your next Mounted Patrol partner, Trail horse extraordinaire, Jousting up and comer, or Fox Hunt horse, the possibilities are truly endless with this young gentleman!
Hatchet Jack is being trained/fitted by Sowa Horsemanship from Sept. 10th until sale week to add finishing touches of perfection to insure he is 100% sale ready.
