Ajax is a grade paint horse who filled a hole for us as one of our other kids’ horses aged into retirement. He has served his purpose and doesn't owe us anything, so we are hoping to see him to a good fit if possible. Our kids (starting when they were about 12 years old) have used this horse for gathering and moving cattle, riding outside with friends, and at clinic, where he will tolerate riders waving swim noodles, being loud, being behind and under him, or hanging off to one side of the saddle. He's seen poles and jumps. He doesn't dash around, but is in decent shape and will exhibit energy upon request. Draws to the barn, and whinnies and draws to other horses when ridden by himself, but he has never bucked or bitten. As the horse has aged into a less patient personality, we would like to see him go only to intermediate riders and only with supervision by adults experienced with horses. This is mostly because he should not be tied fast (occasionally pulls back), remains difficult to shoe, and is even getting to be a bit of a chore to trim. Interested parties welcome to try him at our local indoor arena or here at the ranch. Afterward, make an offer! Fine to saddle and bridle, loads in a trailer easily, we usually just wrap the reins and send him in. Current Coggins and vaccinations.
