This is an outcross for us, so we have really been enjoying this colt and what he has to offer! King's dam, Mossrose Dandy Jewel, is 15.1H and a big, solid, deep bodied mare with plenty of substance yet maintaining a nice feminine elegance about her. King's sire is the late 15.1H black Quantum Midnight Magic. King is an exceptional colt. He has been a big colt with a lot of substance from the day he was born. He was 12H by 3 months old and 14.1H by 13 months old! I expect him to mature to 15.1H or 15.2H Also from the day he was born, he has been very friendly, coming up for pets whenever he sees us. He is always respectful & kind. He is a big mover with a lovely trot and excellent working canter, one of the nicest canters I've seen in a long time. He lopes off so nice & so slow, I'm convinced he could lope in place without a problem! He naturally works off of his hindquarters and changes leads with ease. One morning when he was just a couple months old we looked out in the pasture to see him loping circles to the left for a looong time. Very impressive for a youngster! King has been worked on obstacles & handled twice a week from 1 month old until this past spring at 1 year old. He enjoyed time off this past summer and started back to work September 3rd. While the fall weather is nice, he will be improving his skills in the round pen and learning to be comfortable wearing a saddle. He is also catching on quickly to ground driving in our large outdoor arena while wearing a saddle. Hopefully we will get in some ponying out in the wide open spaces yet this fall. King is out on pasture with a 3 year old gelding and an 18 year old gelding for 12 hours each day and in a dry lot for 12 hours. He is haltered and brought into a tie stall where he eats his grain and nibbles on hay until it's time to lead him out to the pasture or to his dry lot. He is quiet in his tie stall. He is also quiet and quite happy in a box stall. He can be tied or left alone in the barn without any fuss. He is good for, and up to date on, all farrier work, deworming and vaccinations. King is coming along nicely and like all of our Morgans, has a willing disposition and exceptional work ethic. He tries hard to please. He is so good at coming when I call them in from the pasture. The second I call, he comes to me at a gallop! Such a good boy. King is quite striking and talented. He could easily be a performance horse that would make his owner proud! King is paid up for the NMRHA derby, which stays with him and transfers to any new owner.
