Peach Cobbler is a six year old Spotted Draft Gelding. Broke to ride and drive. Enrolled in our Ultimate Trail Horse Finishing Program. Can be reserved now and finished to your personal needs. Expected to be finished at the end of May. Cobbler is very mellow. He wants to please. We have taken him to new places and he has no worries. Not spooky, more curious of new things and places. He has been down the road under saddle and pulling a buggy, not afraid of traffic or the like. He is well versed on the trails, doing a lot of solo rides in the woods and down the road. Not barn sour and does not need a buddy to be confident. He has learned to move off the leg, move the hip, shoulder and leg yield. He has been across all the obstacles and is very confident. He has a wonderful, uphill canter. I could ride it all day.
Cobbler is doing well in our Program and has been trail ridden many miles, been driven and ridden down the road for 60 days, completed the Clinton Anderson Fundamentals for 8 weeks and started on Intermediate. He has had a large amount of desensitizing. Plastic bags, umbrellas, tarps, dogs, ATV's, no worries at all. He is also learning the tricks. He is comfortable laying down and bowing. We have even laid him down to mount and he was super chill. He has had beginners on him and he packs them along. With an advanced rider, he steps up his responsiveness, while still being easy to ride and work with.
Part of our program consists of giving them a break after some concentrated training, and then bringing them back to work to judge their attitude after some time off. Most owners cannot ride their horses daily, so we incorporate breaks into the training to test how they will do with time off. This also allows them to be horses and not be trained on every day. A good social life is important for the well being of your horse. We take about a year to finish a horse as it is as much about seasoning as concentrated training. Miles with a complete education.
He has all the making of a fine Ultimate Trail Horse. For more information on our program, visit our website. I have a lot of videos on YouTube as well. The ad only allows one video, but I have plenty more to share.
