***PLEASE note that this horse is not sound enough for any sort of intense competitive activity, pleasure / trail riding/ walk/ trot sound only*** Xena is that unicorn that we are all looking for when it comes to something big and safe for our husbands to enjoy out on the trails with us! Her disposition is impeccable, highly compliant, calm, unflappable. Her temperament is sweet. Her movement is soft, with a gentle flat-kneed trot. A fabulous broodmare as well, her first son, Arctic Spotlight, is my personal show horse, and he is a true all-around horse. He competes and is successful in all disciplines from Western Pleasure to two Reserve World Champion Titles this year in Working Hunter and Equitation Over Fences. Xena is able to be ridden at a walk and trot, but she does have an old injury to her hind right fetlock from a previous owner that makes her uncomfortable cantering or jumping, but she stays quite sound for low-intensity work. My family just took her camping and completed 7 hours of walking and trotting through the woods with a large group of other riders and she was a super star. She would also be an asset to a beginning riding program as she is very good with new riders. I cannot say enough good things about this mare, she is a gem.
