Di Colas Cowgirl is a willing, wants to please, in your pocket mare. Last race was 6/11/20...she has had her downtime and is now ready to start a new career! At the track she was always quiet and polite to train in the mornings, and tried her heart out during a race. After sitting for a few months she has some honest spunk to show, but none of it is dirty and she is quite happy to just hang out and eat peppermints all day. She is not in training; I rode her once to assess her and she listened to everything I asked; moved off my leg, bent around turns, trotted up & down hills, slowed down, opened her stride. She did buck in the canter but never once thought about ducking out or spooking etc. She is comfortable with a bigger stride than expected and is light in the mouth. Any experienced amateur or kid working with a trainer could retrain this mare and take her far. No serious past injuries, no limitations. She does have a small bump on her tendon, it looks like it was a lesion on her superficial flexor that healed a long time ago and is now set & cold. She raced on it and it never bothered her again. She is currently sound. She was retired because of her age/her owner wasn't going to run her into the ground. They want Cowgirl to find a soft landing to live out her years happy & healthy. This mare LOVES people. She comes up to the gate to say hi, she will lick you for hours after you give her peppermints. She loves to be groomed and doted on. She also gets along well with other horses. No vices. She has great ground manners; ties, picks up her feet, trailers etc. Price is negotiable, please call/message Erika 540-771-8269 or fitness.eventing@gmail.com https://youtu.be/AOXI8pw3VzE
