Riley is a sweet and proven APHA/APtHA 6 year old mare. Gorgeous mover. She was started and finished by a professional trainer and is now maintained at home. Finished in Showmanship, Horsemanship and Western Pleasure. She is started in English and would be an excellent Trail horse as well. 41.5 APHA points in SMS, WH, and WP in two years. She was off this past summer because of the pandemic and my daughter moving away.
She won Senior Horsemanship at the Nebraska State Horse show in 2019 (just 6 months after starting Horsemanship training), and got 3rd in both SMS and WP. She placed in the top 3 in Sr Western Pleasure and Sr Showmanship at Color Breed Congress in 2019 and top 10 in Bareback HMS, Discipline Rail, and HMS. Her future is incredibly bright with consistent showing!!
I would definitely consider her a youth horse but she does tend to be on the lazy side and has quite a few buttons for a beginning loper. My 7 year old daughter hops on her all the time but has a hard time keeping her in a trot (she still does the leg flutters :) ) but Riley does an amazing job with her in walk/trot and walk/whoa SMS. She is patient and easy with her always.
Very easy clipper, bather, hauler, and stands for the farrier without an problem. Not mare-ish at all. It is hard to tell when she is in heat.
She is on Adequan as a prophylactic as she is deep hocked.
