Dexter is a finished reined cow horse (out of Jimmy Flores' program) who loves having a job and would be incredibly enjoyable for an intermediate+/amateur rider, confidant beginner/older youth with a trainer. He has all the buttons and cow that make him super fun to ride and he’s so broke that you can do a pattern on him bridleless. He is a great teacher, packing beginners to advanced riders with patience. He’s the type who can be a babysitter or really push you to be a better rider. While Dexter thrives in the arena, he is also a great trail horse who walks out and has been exposed to busy urban trails, water, cars, motorcycles, baby wagons, kids, dogs, hills, logs, etc. He could easily be taken back to the show pen with a tune up or to the popular Ranch Riding classes. He's the type you can try a variety of disciplines on and be competitive. I've ranch sorted on him (forward, fast, & catty) and roped the smarty. He's an easy keeper with no special maintenance or shoeing (*he does not currently have sliders on). Due to life and work obligations, Dexter had several years of very light use and pasture living so this is a nice horse who hasn't had his legs ridden off. He's currently back to stall living and is legged up, fit, and ready to go to work. Photos and videos available.
