Nyx has both reining and cutting bloodlines including Docs Prescription, Lucky Little Lena and Snapper Cal Bar. She currently stands 15hh and should mature around 15.2hh. She is a beautiful, kind, quiet and willing filly with a gorgeous head and neck. She has the potential to be an all around athlete. She’s got about 60 light, easy rides and has not been pushed. We don’t ride 2 year olds hard; we teach them the basics and expose them to new things and obstacles in a quiet, non stressful way. Under saddle she walks, trots and lopes and is very smooth to sit. She’s got a natural, great stop, picks up both leads with limited loping, side passes, backs, moves off leg, and started on neck reining. Her ground manners are excellent. She stands tied, clips with electric clippers, bathes, loads and stands for the farrier. She’s brave and curious and enjoys obstacles such as tarps, cowboy curtains, car washes, dragging sleds, rocking bridges, opens and closes gates, flags and umbrellas. She was exposed to a cow once and walked calmly within a few feet of it. We ride her bareback and hauled her to 2 shows and showed in a few ranch walk/trot classes. Other horses around her and the show environment did not bother her at all. She gets ridden once every few days and has even gone a couple weeks between rides and rides the same without having to be longed. She’s got a good solid start to be finished in any direction. She is sound, good minded and very athletic. We’ve hauled her to several trail rides and she’s amazingly brave and will lead or follow. She’s encountered and calmly navigated woods, fields, streams, lakes, rivers, other horses, bikers, cars, hikers and dogs and we even rode her in the Atlantic Ocean at Henlopen State Park in Delaware. We’ve had her since she was 10 months old and she’s had excellent care since. Always UTD on farrier, dental, deworming and vet care. She’s even been seen by a chiropractor twice and is in excellent structural condition. She’s good in a stall or on pasture. We keep them out basically 24/7 with shelter but they come into their stalls daily for grain, inclement weather, heat of the day during summer, grooming and saddling. She’s low on the pecking order, easy to work with, barefoot, never been injected, easy keeper, respects fences and has no vices such as weaving or cribbing. She adores attention and is the first one to greet you in the field. If Nyx was a gelding we’d keep her. Unfortunately she’s the only mare in the pasture. She’s not “marish” but is a mare which can cause some issues among the geldings. Getting her into a great home is most important to us. We have tons of video of this nice filly from arena work, doing obstacles, and trail riding.
