Kodiak’s Black Gold, aka “Chrome” is a 5-year-old gelding that is truly one in a million. Not only does he have the color and conformation everyone is looking for, but he also has the sweetest disposition and training to make someone forever dreams horse. Chrome has spent countless hours on the trail, working cows, bird hunting, field trialing, pony parties, starting colts, and an uncountable number of hours have gone into his advanced level of training. Only a horse of superior intelligence has the ability to be trained at his level. He has the smoothest gait you could ask for with a bridle and BRIDLELESS, loose rein or tight rein, it doesn’t matter. He picks up both leads on command and has a canter that makes you feel like you are floating in the clouds. He will neck rein one-handed, responds to leg cues, very light in the mouth, and backs up with ease using your legs alone and sides passes. He can be ridden everywhere and through anything BRIDLELESS! Chrome has a long list of tricks as well. He lays down on command from the ground or from the saddle for mounting and dismounting. He loves to lay his head in your lap like a puppy dog to be loved on when he lays down, too. Chrome is trained to come when he is called like a dog and will follow you around running with no halter or lead rope. He will side pass up to anything for mounting with just the snap of your fingers. He is used to guns, dogs, bullwhips, cattle, balloons, flags, traffic, water, and children. We have even had some fun doing some mounted shooting on him! Chrome has LOTS of cows to him as well. I really think he enjoys working with cows. He will cut and sort a cow right there with the best quarter horses. He will pin his ears and really go after a cow if you ask him to. You will not find another gaited horse like him! He has spent many hours tracking, roping, and dragging steers, as well as calmly riding through the herd to check cows. Chrome is quiet and trustworthy to ride out by yourself or with a group of horses. Chrome is easy to catch anywhere! He willingly picks up all four feet, stands quietly for the farrier, clipping, and for bathing. He loads in the trailer with no issues and backs out perfectly. He is quiet in the stall and is good with other horses turned out in the pasture. He stands without being tied for grooming and to be saddled. He really loves attention and wants to be with you at all times. He will be the same horse every time you get on him even with months off out in the pasture. Chrome really is a big loving horse and is so willing to do whatever you ask of him. He is a lovely lady’s horse or is big and stout enough for any gentleman. Please watch his lengthy video to see what all Chrome can do! He will not disappoint! Do not miss a chance to own your own unicorn!
