Beautiful red dun 14yo registered Half-Arabian / AQHA mare for sale to an experienced endurance home. Due to owner health issues, this mare was started late at 12yo. Has had 2 summers of work under saddle with a patient trainer, including mountain riding, arena work, cattle and wildlife exposure, trailering, and general conditioning. Easy keeper, good feet, no known health issues other than sensitivity to wildfire smoke (aren’t we all!?) She is by an AQHA dun performance stallion and out of a racing-bred Polish Arabian mare (my dressage-endurance mare, the bay in the pictures). She has been shod (hot and cold) previously but is currently barefoot.

Sahara is easy to handle and is safe for my children to groom and work with in a stall. Under saddle, however, she can be challenging due to her quickness and sensitivity. She requires approximately 20 minutes of rigorous riding to “settle” and get to work. She is very sensitive to aids and requires a light hand and solid seat. She is super quick and will try hard to please, but has some issues with herd anxiety. Ridden in a snaffle bit and western saddle for training.

Due to ages and skill levels of my family, selling to a home where she will be a better fit. Price negotiable to a good home, endurance preferred. References and veterinarian reference for prospective buyer will be required. Seller is original owner/breeder.
