Duncan is a horse who gains confidence from his person. If I had to choose an owner and situation for him, it would be someone who enjoys taking lessons, puts the relationship with the horse as their primary goal, understands the value and joy of groundwork, and enjoys going on trail rides with friends. Not suited for beginners as he needs someone to lead the parade. Last summer he was going w/t/c in a training program with a professional event rider. Since then I moved him to another barn and has done lots of lunging (due to my lack of time) and currently being brought back into under saddle work.. Under saddle he is a quick learner and light and responsive to the aids so best suited for an intermediate rider. If competing was an interest, he is a sport horse in a smaller package. This guy has quality movement and would be well suited for a variety of disciplines. Prefers living in a field 24/7 to a stall and has always been sound barefoot. Stands quietly for vet and farrier. Being kept with geldings only is his ideal situation. The videos below were taken last summer and will give you a sense of where his training was under saddle: https://youtube.com/shorts/8ziMmpYQXYg?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/M2YtRMPR-uM?feature=share https://youtu.be/eJUe53TKpRg https://youtube.com/shorts/zTgAmuSuTw4?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/SkHUqpDPHdk?feature=share I’ve gone back and forth as to whether to keep him myself or move him on. I just have too many horses and I think he would be better off finding his own person who can give him their total attention. A good home/match/situation is most important.
