Coffee (Jockey Club name Contendress) is a beautiful 2017 mare who stands 15.2 hands tall. Don’t let her size fool you – big things come in small packages! The first thing that you’ll notice about Coffee is her kind eye. This pretty bay (or should we say mocha) has been restarted under English tack and is vet cleared for all disciplines. We think she’d be a great eventer, especially for the type of rider who wants to get out and do things. Coffee is absolutely the type of horse who will be your partner in battle, and will enjoy going new places and trying new things with her adopter. Because Coffee, just like all good coffees, comes already caffeinated, we recommend an advanced rider for her. Coffee recently had her first cross country schooling session and did great! She bravely tackled ditches, banks, and water on her outing. She also got to participate in her first dressage show recently, and again rocked it! This mare has a promising future, and we are looking forward to finding the adopter that can unlock all her talent. Coffee also got to be a part of a photoshoot with Cait Boblitt Media this summer. We think she has cover girl potential! On the track, Coffee raced over two seasons, notching 2 wins, 2 seconds, and 4 thirds in 19 career starts. She is sound, willing, and ready to start her next career with you! Coffee is available for adoption through Friends of Ferdinand Inc, a Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance accredited organization that specializes in re-training off track Thoroughbreds. All the horses in our retraining program come fully vetted, with test rides for qualified adopters, and with 30-day trial periods. See more photos & videos (including videos of her at her first dressage show) of Coffee on the Friends of Ferdinand website! She is currently located near Dayton, Ohio.
