River is a 14.3hh 12 years old Appaloosa gelding looking for a new partner. 

River is a easy to work with, well versed horse who enjoys human companionship looking for a confident rider. He loads, ties, and stands for the farrier. River has been ridden at Inavale, WildTree, and OHC, along with other eventing around Oregon. He has mostly been ridden English but can also be ridden Western. He is capable of jumping 4’, bold on the cross country course, dressage, and working equitation. River is also capable of hunter jumping but prefers the faster pace of jumpers. River likes to work with cows but hasn’t had many opportunities to do so. He enjoys going on adventures such as overnight camping, beach rides, galloping rides, and trail rides and has been a pack horse up the PCT. On trails he crosses water, ditches, and can either lead, bring up the rear or be in the middle of the pack. He has had training lessons by several local trainers in different categories, though his focus has been jumpers and eventing. River’s ideal person would be a confident, intermediate level rider.  He prefers light aids but steady contact in the bridle. He’s extremely willing to do just about anything with a rider who can confidently lead him. His ideal home would have plenty of turn out and consistent work to keep him fit. We are looking for a 5 star home with someone who appreciates Rivers qualities and the amazing horse he is.
