Moira is a wonderful mare I've had the luck of owning for the last 4 or almost 5 years. The good: She is a solid mare and a wonderful broodmare. She has a great personality and is a producer of gorgeous, tall, and correct foals. She has a huge, floaty trot and a natural elevation Her canter, when put together is easy to ride and she is not heavy in the bridle. She single ties, cross ties, loads, clips, bathes Stands for the farrier Boss mare but gets along with everyone Has been over fences to 2ft and experienced a cross-country course. She was brilliant with both! Here's the bad: Lately, out of nowhere, she has developed some serious issues under saddle. Everyone who has been on her, including me, says it feels like she turns into a ball of anxiety and just switches off. When this happens she hops, threatens to rear, and shuts her shoulder down. There is no warning but it does become relatively predictable. It's not hard to sit and redirect but still very unpleasant to ride. Changing directions and circles bring her back and she eventually works out of it. She's never been a hot horse before but her current personality under saddle would lead you to believe otherwise. We are currently investigating to determine what might be going on but so far nothing has come up with anything helpful. Current riding video available, please ask for the link. I'm selling Moira as a broodmare but as far as I know, nothing other than her attitude says she's not ridable. Her price is reasonably negotiable. If she doesn't sell by May I will be breeding her with my Friesian stallion. She can be purchased in foal but her price will reflect the breeding. If you're interested in only her at that point she can leave after weaning. I would also be open to leasing her out as a broodmare. If you're interested in that, please reach out and I'm happy to discuss it.
