Gem is very kind, gentle and generous. She’s calm and forgiving. She would be an excellent horse for a beginner or for anyone wanting to gain confidence. She’s easy to handle, easy to bathe, easy to trailer, tie, good about her feet, etc. she takes care of her person and would be a good first horse. She loves attention. She loves to put her head in your hands. She’s good on trail. Most of her trail riding experience she was used as a follower horse and would plug along behind the other horses. Recently I’ve been riding her out solo to help her gain confidence as a leader and to go out independently. She is fine going out alone with a confident rider. She would carry just about anyone down the trail following another horse. She likes doing obstacles and having mental challenges. She’s definitely more whoa than go, although she will pick up speed when you ask her to. She’s got a nice walk with a quick turnover and a decently smooth trot and canter. She prefers to walk and trot life but will canter if you make her. She is very friendly with other horses and gets along well. She is an easy keeper with no history of laminitis or founder. She is barefoot with nice solid feet. She is a very comfortable bareback ride. She has had Parelli groundwork. She’s very tuned in emotionally and is super grounded. She would make a wonderful therapy horse.
