10 year old grade QH gelding-16h. I got him in April from the track in AZ where is was a pony horse with the hopes of him being a family horse for us. Unfortunately he just isn't fitting into that role. I have ridden him English and western- he will neck rein or ride two handed. Excuse the short videos- i just had a baby two months ago so i'm just getting back in the saddle after 9 months. He is getting better at arena work but prefers the trails! My 2 year old son and non horsey husband both walked around on him no problem, but he is VERY pushy. I think he would be best for an intermediate or above rider because of his size but with a little more time could be ok for an advanced beginner with a trainer. Pros: *Easy keeper *Trailers great- eats and drinks *Stands for vet/farrier *UTD on all vaccines, dental, and body work *Good in a stall *Gets along with my mares- except at feeding time he beats up my mini *not phased by much- the only thing he was afraid of so far was the playground we installed for my son- and he just sidestepped around it *lunges *currently going in a snaffle *Goes well with just front shoes *Loves to trail ride Cons: *Food sassy- This is the main reason I need to sell him- I keep my horses at home and have to little kids running around and always "helping"- He has never tried to kick at me but pins his ears and kicks walls while you are trying to feed. He will push right through the door when you open it if you aren't prepared and tries to rip the food from your hands. Once he has his food he is totally fine and goes back to being an easy going guy. *Pushy- If you try to move him out of your space he will push back harder- and he isn't small- if you use the lead rope to tap his chest he will back off but with body pressure he just applies the pressure back at you.- We are working on this and he has gotten a little better.
