Rehoming to the to approved home. **VIDEO available upon request** Meet Labette. She is a 2010 Morgan Mare in search of her forever person. I purchased Labette in May, 2022, hoping she would be my back-up endurance horse. However, after I brought her home from Texas and rode her for a few weeks, I realized that she was not cut out for this job without a fresh start. This has been a difficult decision to rehome her as I love so many things about her, but I was not looking for another project horse as I already have one. I’ll happily visit with anyone that has interest about all details. She has great Morgan bloodlines and could be a broodmare prospect, but I really think she needs her own person and job. She would love a permanent home and to not be passed around and a fresh start (she’d been passed around prior to coming to me). The trainer I took her to thought she would excel in jumping or an event like that that would keep her constantly busy. She has gorgeous gaits and is fun to ride and forward, which I like. I was told when I purchased her that she has also spent time with the Amish as a cart horse and is skilled at pulling a cart. The person I purchased her from told me she was not barn/trailer sour and “rides out alone” with no issues. I have much to share, but keeping this short. She is well trained; however, after taking her to a trainer for a month after we started having issues, my suspicions were confirmed that she is more like a very green 4-year-old than a seasoned 12-year-old. She is very soft in the mouth and soft to leg pressure – but seems to moves from quickly more out of anxiety than softness. She has never offered to buck and is not spooky – but she has reared on me several times. She is up-to-date on all vaccinations, stands for the farrier and loads onto a trailer & travels great. She camps great as well. Very much “in your pocket” and comes when called. She LOVES to eat. Haha Rehoming fee reduced to $4,000, negotiable to the perfect, approved home. I will provide the PPE from my purchase of her and Labette’s future partner is welcome to hire their own. Video available upon request.
