5yo Missouri Fox Trotter -- Check out his website, it has video, more pics and detail: https://sites.google.com/view/mft-trail-master/home or email martha.sellers@gmail.com 15.1 Solid, safe and sane trail horse, bred and professionally started in Missouri by leading show trainer Steve Dampier and "road trained" many miles on the streets and trails of Oakland and trails around Lake Tahoe. He is a good sized horse. I have video with my 5'11", 190 lb (beginner) husband on him. Solid gaits. Excellent foxtrot, smooth running walk, walks quietly with slow horses or can do a hammering show walk. He has a fantastic natural canter, collected and comfortable. He has a quiet personality, has been ridden by children and beginners, fun for anyone. I have been riding 50 years and have a great time riding him, he's naturally quiet but responsive when you ask him to move up. Never allowed to eat with his bridle on, so he doesn't try. In a group, a complete beginner can ride him, no experience necessary. I trail ride him alone most of the time and he is great. Riding alone, he will whinny for his buddy as we ride off and he gently tries to turn back but obeys when you nudge him and keep him straight. As we return to the barn, he would like to move into a bigger walk. I believe an advanced beginner could ride him without other horses. Riding in groups, he goes easily in front, back or middle, saddled or bareback, he is steady and forward, moves off your leg. Yellowstone has ponied horses past city buses, wood chippers, dogs bouncing off chain link fences, bikes -- he might startle in place at something or stop and give it a look but he's not difficult, ask him to focus on his working walk and he just cruises by. He goes happily over logs, up and down small banks, through water and crosses bridges including a crazy bridge at Tahoe Donner that has a clanky metal surface and no railings. He is careful where he places his feet, super safe on narrow trails on steep hills. Walks into the trailer, ties, stands when mounted, stands for shoer. Comes when he is called, loves attention. I'm looking for just the right home for him to be ridden and appreciated. A real quality Foxtrotter, Lifetime nominated National Breeders Cup Performance Horse. $16,000, Inquiries: martha.sellers@gmail.com
