Lucca is a lovely homebred 2014 bay warmblood gelding by Lagoheidor out of a Pik L mare who was the top scoring foal at her Oldenburg inspection. Full history known. He was professionally started by a top event trainer and then given time to fully mature physically. Lucca has been slowly and correctly developed, and is now ready to find his new home!

He has been competed by a young rider since last year and moved up to training level in May 2022. Lucca is confidently schooling preliminary and some intermediate questions. With scope for days, he has a huge but adjustable stride and jump. Lucca is super brave but also extremely careful–a great combination! While he has been primarily competed in eventing so far, he would also do very well in the jumpers–won some 1.10 meter classes recently and has the ability and drive to go much higher. He is an excellent mover but our focus has been more on jumping, so still somewhat green on the flat and needs to build up more strength. Lucca was recently was ridden by Alexis Helffrich at the Woodside horse trials and finished in 5th on his dressage score of 31.9.

This is a sweet horse who likes attention and loves his people. He has a real presence. Fit, sound, and ready to go. Genuine reason for sale, rider is starting a new job. Due to his size and talent, best suited for competent adult amateur/young rider but also an amazing horse for an up and coming professional. Price may change as he progresses up the levels.

UPDATE 10/25/22: Lucca just completed his first Modified at Ram Tap, ending on his dressage score in 7th place in a big division.
