This horse has had the start humans dream of but never put the time into. Jo has had the most ridiculous regimen of bombproofing so that he doesn't react to new or scary stimuli (see videos). He is so easy going it is easy to forget you are on a colt, and not a trained and seasoned horse. This is because of Jo's great personality and his extensive desensitizing training as he was being groomed to be an older lady's bombproof, haul anywhere and go trail mount. Wow is he already that! Make sure when watching the videos to keep watching after the first one ends. There are about 20! He is a fast learner, tries very hard and listens well. He lunges like a dream and responds to voice cues on the ground and in the saddle. He does the natural horsemanship moves and has been taught how to handle pressure with ease. You can see this training in the video where he sees flags for the first time and gets 5 put on him. He has lots of trail exposure and has been hauled to many different places to go overnight horse camping or be ponied or ridden on trail rides. He is light in the face and is learning to move his shoulders, ribs and haunches with your leg and seat. He already does very correct turns on the haunches and forehand. He responds to your seat like I have never experienced in a colt. His stop is soft, willing and great. He has rhythmic tempo despite him having so few rides on him. He has lovely transitions. We have mainly been focusing on the walk-trot and are just starting to canter which he is working into nicely. He has been started very slowly and correctly without sacrificing his bones or joints. He has the height, width, grit and mind to be a jam up head and heel horse, the movement to go in the AQHA show pen, not bat an eye and win in everything from western dressage to English pleasure to ranch versatility. Alternatively you could ride him as a safe, doesn't spook at anything trail horse (see videos), and let him grow to then train him in dressage. We are not selling him as a safe, broke horse at this stage, but he certainly has the potential to be a safe safe mount with more riding. Jo is at the perfect stage where you can take him and turn him into whatever discipline you want with your style of training.
