Diva is the once in a lifetime unicorn people look for. She is located in Grand Junction, Colorado. 12 years old AQHA registered mare suitable for any age/level of rider. 15.0 HH. The good: Diva is an extremely mellow and level headed mare. Nothing seems to surprise her and she is willing to try anything you can throw at her. She can handle any terrain with ease. She was used as my daughters 4H horse for 3 years with a focus on ranch versatility. You can pony anything off of her, she can be ponied, she can drag a log, cross a bridge, crosses water including those dreaded water boxes with ease. She knows how to work a flag or work a cow. That being said, when my daughter wanted to try English we were able to throw an English saddle on her and try some low crossrails with zero fuss. She will likely never win a true speed event but she will give it her all at the local gymkhana. She will W/T/L both directions with ease. You can ask for a lope from a standstill with no issues. Has simple lead changes down pat and is working on flying lead changes though could use more work on this to make it solid every time. She has lots of trail experience and no problems with any trail obstacles such as deadfall, water, steep terrain, etc. She has been thru a lot of de-spook type stuff including things like overhead flying pool noodles/random things set up like a car wash on an overhead gate, T. Rex feeding her (my kids in an inflatable Halloween costume), playing soccer with a large 40 inch diameter ball, etc… At events nothing seems to bother her; the crow box, generators, lights, other animals. Her gaits are smooth and her whoa is amazing. Knows the round pen and works off voice command. Rides bareback. She can sit for months and you can jump on with no fuss though she might be a little lazy with cues if it has been a long time. She will turn on the forehand and haunches and side pass like a dream. You don’t have to dismount to open or close a gate. She also knows how to pick you up on either side from any mounting obstacle you choose such as a block, truck fender or a large rock on the side of the trail. Excellent ground manners. Stands well for vet or farrier. She can go barefoot or wear shoes. If you are doing more trail riding she would do better with shoes only because she has a tendency to chip at times. Has been overnight camping and packed camp though not game. Trailers well in either slant or straight load; she has manners and will back out of either without rushing. She just finished a 30 day tune-up at the trainers and is ready to go any direction you point her at. The bad/ugly: Unicorns are pretty rare and the price reflects that. Numerous photos and videos available of pretty much all of the above.
