MINA 2005 16.1hh Clydesdale/Selle Francais mare We are offering for sale Mina - an absolutely gorgeous 17 year old mare! We purchased Mina for my niece as her first horse, but she has decided she is just not interested in horses. Mina was probably a bit too much horse for her, anyway, so we want her to find her perfect home. Mina's previous owner had schooled Mina through some third level movements - she had started her half steps for piaffe and passages. She is a lovely mare with fantastice movement. However, she does have some arthritic changes, so she needs to be in a home without huge aspirations for moving up the levels. Mina also has one flat foot that we have been working on fixing the angle of. A shoe with wedge may help, but we were transitioning to barefoot. She is a horse that I honestly think anyone can ride - I've not seen her put a foot wrong, and she seems to really enjoy working. For the bad, Mina will need to go to a home with someone experienced in handling a large horse on the ground. She knows she is big and can take advantage of someone who does not know what they are doing. The biggest issue is with picking up her feet - which can likely be easily fixed with consistent work from an experienced handler. She is great for all other aspects of care, though (except the high velocity dryer... She doesn't like that like my thoroughbreds do!). Mina has never had a foal, but she could also be a broodmare prospect - that movement is definitely something to think about passing on! I believe she should be eligible for registration with the AWR. I can provide her new home with the contact information of her breeder. Mina would make a great YR horse for someone wanting to learn those first and maybe second levels - she may even be able to handle some low level jumping. But again, she will need someone who can help her remember her manners on the ground. Videos and pictures posted - please don't judge my riding... It's been a year since I've really been in the saddle (and one much too small, to boot!), and at the time of the recent video (taken yesterday), Mina hadn't been ridden at all in about 4 months. All things considered, she did FABULOUS. I left in some of the sticky moments to show how easily she comes together even when her rider is trying to get her ducks in a row. She really is a dream under saddle. I also included a video of my niece riding her when we first got her earlier in the year. A PPE is welcome at buyer's expense - I have one that was done earlier in the year that I can share, but if you want more, we can arrange that!
