"Everything you could want a horse to be". That's what his previous owner says of Blue and he is one of the steadiest 6 year olds I have ever seen. A unicorn of a horse for sure. Bred by premier international Walkaloosa breeders Tenmile Walkaloosas, Blue was originally sold lightly started as a 4 year old to a buyer in her 70's. Sadly, his buyer became ill so TMW bought him back to find him a great next home for him. Blue has a solid natural horsemanship foundation and his buyer completed his training as an outstanding finished gaited trail horse and even taught him some very cool liberty work with clicker training. His two copies of the DMRT3(Gait) gene, correct conformation and appropriate training enable him to be super gaited with both Foxtrot and Saddle Rack gaits and able to gait on a loose rein. Blue also has a very nice canter. He is very soft in the bridle and is quiet and respectful in a bitless bridle. He has also been ridden in a direct-rein snaffle bit. He catches, halters, ties, stands, loads, hauls, trims, bathes quietly and without a fuss. He is the kind of horse that can sit for a couple of months and then take you for a great ride without issues, but he loves people so you will want to spend lots of time with him. He has been ridden in the desert, forest, beach and roads with traffic. He rides alone or in a group and gets along with horses of any gender. He will ride out slow or fast and has even been ridden once in a fast-riding gaited horse group on singletrack mountain trails and kept his cool the entire time. Blue is very solid and brave. He is smart, willing, and wants to please. His "spook" is to grab the ground with all 4 hooves then extend his neck and/or walk towards the new experience with curiosity. He crosses water, bridges, tarps. He will move over to a mounting block or the arena fence for mounting then stands still for mounting and until asked to walk off. Blue gave leadline pony rides to children at our recent open house and did not miss a beat with novices making clumsy mounts and dismounts. He loved the attention of being dressed up as a unicorn and having his hair dyed for the event. Blue deserves an intermediate rider with soft hands so that he will retain his softness and training. A high level beginner working with a trainer may also be a good fit for him. Given another year or two with the right person I have no doubt that Blue will be that horse that anyone from kids to grandmas to husbands to complete novices will be able to ride. Blue was thoughtfully bred for outstanding temperament, intelligence, stamina, conformation, and gait.
