Dixie came off the track in March of 2020, as a 5 year old. She had a little over 2 years of let down time out in a big pasture. Spent 4 months on a light schedule (2-3 times a week) of lunging and ground work. After that I have started riding her again. And she’s been EASY. Walk and trot are super solid, and her center is coming around wonderfully! Nothing dangerous by any means, just simply learning how to use her body in a new way with a rider on top. Trotting a full cross rail course. She’s never offered ANY buck, rear, bolt, or even spook. The least “mare-ish” mare in the herd, and doesn’t act “red headed” at all. That being said, she is still a forward ride and very green. Very smart, super willing, and an easy keeper! No maintenance, and NO bad habits with this girl. A true diamond in the rough, just waiting for her right person to polish her up. No limitations, and can go in any direction!
