Costello is a black 2013 model, 9 year old Fresian Morgan cross gelding, standing 16.3 hands tall. He is currently in a training program where he is being ridden several days a week. Costello’s background is primarily dressage but he has dabbled in a bit of everything! When consistently in dressage work he has been working on walk to canters, simple changes, leg yields and has started to work on shoulder ins. With a dedicated rider, we believe he has the potential to go past that. His owner is a dedicated dressage rider and trainer that has owned him since he was 4 years old. She is currently pregnant and this is the reason he has moved to a training program and she has decided to sell him. Costello rides in an indoor, an outdoor and has started some riding out in the field. In his current training program he is starting to learn some basics for working equitation. Costello has minimal jumping experience. Costello has not had much trail riding experience but we believe with time and the right rider he could excel with that as well. Costello is a little lazy and does require an educated leg if you are asking him to work. He has had some beginners on him and he takes it nice and slow with him, but it is sometimes hard for beginners to get him moving forward off of your leg. Before heading into the training program he is currently in, he spent a few months with an 11 year old who was capable of getting him forward and participated in schooling shows at his barn a couple times at trainings level. Costello clips, ties, cross-ties, bathes and is easy to tack. He has always been barefoot and is very good for the farrier. He is the type of horse you can get on every day and ride or give him a month off and he is the same horse. He is fun to ride and is just looking for a person of his own!
