Recently relocated to the Bay Area! Looking for that horse you can take camping, cruise through the rivers, into the woods and surf, & then go win your ranch riding class the following weekend? Look no further! Ringo is that unicorn you’ve been looking for: a 2014 APHA registered solid bred smoky black gelding, who has been there, done that. One owner his whole life, I owned both his dam & sire. This is a unique opportunity to own a horse that has had extensive training, & get a full history of it. This horse has ALL the fancy buttons. He turns, he spins, he bends, he slides, he half passes, works gates, etc. Think cow horse handle, reining & versatility show pen experience (& successes), & quiet minded. If you want something with only the most basic gears, this is not your guy. Think "Mcleran"--think "fancy", think one handed in the bridle, loping off on a loose rein--or performing turnarounds with no reins. He is all that & more! This horse turns heads everywhere he goes. He is NOT a dude horse, but he is always consistent under saddle no matter how much time off he's had. He stands 14.2H. He has shown successfully in reining, ranch riding & trail, & has carried both adult & youth riders to first places consistently. Besides not having had the opportunity to work cattle, there is nothing he doesn't do! He crosses water, goes in the surf, & is sure footed throughout a variety of terrain. He is good around bicyclists, strollers, & dogs. He has ponied other horses & introduced green horses to the surf. I’d prefer to see this horse go to a home that works with a competent trainer & that will go show him some more in the ranch riding classes (where he is capable of & has in the past marked over 78), as well as going out & enjoying life on the trail & in our national parks. Ringo has never carried a rider that didn't fall in love with him. He has taught a handful of novice youth & adult riders how to reduce their reliance on the reins, how to trust the horse they are on, how to find rhythm with their mount. He has helped make them better riders & has helped them build their own confidence. While his training is western, he knows how to accept contact & can be ridden English. He has also worked over small jumps in the arena & on the trail. Tirekickers will NOT be entertained. Serious inquiries ONLY.
