We are proud to present Valamar Oro or “Val” a 15.3hh 6-year-old barefoot, Dunskin, Registered Friesian Sporthorse foaled in 2017. Val is sired by the legendary Super Mario whose sire is the famous Wander 352. His mother is a registered quarter horse mare, Cattins Little Lady, with an equally impressive pedigree. Val has been trail ridden all over Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, Iowa, and Missouri. He loves to explore the woods, climb hills, ride rough and rocky terrain, wade through thick mud and go on camping trips. He stands tied, he pickets, and he gets along with other horses. He has also been used around a ranch sorting cows, he has had a rope thrown off him and caught some smaller calves in the pasture. As good as he is on the trails or around the ranch his real talent lies in the arena. Val has been started slow in the Hunters/Jumpers at up to 2’9 with a professional trainer. Val has competed at small local horse shows and at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio in the jumpers and equitation classes. He has a beautiful walk, a floaty flat kneed trot, and the most rhythmical canter. He moves on and off seat and light pressure, knows lateral movements and is soft thru the pole. He responds very well to your aids and always aims to please. Over fences, not much phases him; he’s been jumped, inside and outside. His canter is so balanced and rhythmical, he takes his rider right to the jump bravely and almost effortlessly with no refusals. Val shows tremendous ability in jumping as he snaps his knees up every time and jumps with the most beautiful form. His conformation and pedigree would also lend nicely to Dressage. When you add his color to his athletic abilities, you will surely be turning heads, whether out on the trails, or in the show ring. Val is a barn favorite. When you walk past his stall, he pokes his nose out tilts his head sideways, pops his ears right up, and he’s always looking for a connection and affection from his human companions, and he loves children. Out in the field, he plays well with the other horses and ponies and is easy to catch. He loads and unloads for trailering easily and has excellent ground manners with no kick, bite or buck. Stands for hoof picking and farrier without concern. Val is inquisitive, smart, and sensible. He has a happy-go-lucky disposition. Val is a young horse with a bright future, he can excel in anything from trail riding, to Dressage, Show Jumping, Fox Hunting, Western or even Cross-Country Eventing. It’s not every day you find a horse with this pedigree, versatility, training, color, mind, and disposition. He is hands-down one of the kindest boys.
