Yavanna is an approximately 15 hh Quarter Horse/Andalusian cross (American Azteca), un-papered (grade), and an absolute sweetheart. She wants to be with people, loves to be cuddled, brushed, and scratched. She greets me with a whinny every morning and evening. I love this girl, and the decision to part with her does not come easily. We’ve become very attached, and the trust we’ve built is amazing. Unfortunately, my family demands are being upped significantly following the death of my father. I don’t want her to just sit. (Also, I am a pretty big person, at 5’10” and 240 lbs, and I have never fully felt comfortable with her light build. Nor have I been able to find a saddle that fits both me and her.) Yavanna will be great with a INTERMEDIATE RIDER with confidence, and I will be very picky about where she goes. More information about Yavanna: - no bite, no kick, no buck, no rear - lunges both directions at w/t/c - Moves off leg or rein - Trailers well in a two horse straight load trailer with divider removed, and in a stock trailer. I have not tried her in the two horse with the divider in place. Sometimes a little reluctant to get in, but does so with a tap of the rope. - Stands for farrier and feet cleaning, not crazy about cold water baths but tolerates as long as the water doesn’t get on her head. - Currently shod for the summer but didn’t need to be. She has great, hard feet. - Does great in the arena and out riding her on the farm. - Is very curious and smart, if presented with something new wants to check it out, smell it, etc - Sometimes lacks confidence and gets spooked by something. Does need a good rider with confidence to work her through the scary spots. HEALTH INFO: She has a bump and scar on her back pastern from a previous injury, but has never shown tenderness or difficulty with it. Has NEVER presented lame, has trotted and loped fine with me and others doing arena work and on harder ground. But, when I considered selling her in March, a PPE found she had a large bone cyst in her right stifle, a never fully formed cyst in her left stifle, and mild bilateral osteoarthritis of the tarsometatarsal joints. Since then, I have been giving her OCD Pellets to support bone growth and cartilage, and Butte-Less to help reduce any inflammation. I also feed a mineral mix from the local vet, and flax seed oil. Wormed in the spring, had a fecal count done in the summer (0), and is up to date on the vaccines recommended by my vet. Her teeth were floated a little over a year ago, before I got her. I have not had X-rays redone to check progress since feeding the OCD Pellets because I can’t afford it, but any additional X-rays or tests and full PPE are welcome at the expense of any interested party. I will also make available the full report, initial X-rays, and vet records. She has continued to be lameness free through the summer and fall of riding and lunging.
