Introducing Versailles, aka "the King" or "Mr. V.". When you look up the word versatile in the dictionary, it really should say Versailles ;-). This gorgeous 17.1 hand black imported Westphalian warmblood is a very unique alrounder indeed. He was started late to give him all the opportunity to grow his body strong and correctly and we are now reaping the benefits of this as he is capable of working in a variety of disciplines. We ride him one day in dressage or jump him around a little course and the next we take him to an obstacle set up or do some working equitation. If we feel like working with some cows in the field, we take him sorting and there as well he is completely in his element. We just started him jumping and he takes to this with enthusiasm and is turning out to be a great hunter and equitation prospect with his beauty, his extensive flat work experience and flowing gaits. And of course that thick tail ;-)! He has also completed a 20 hour course of basic mounted police horse work. He walked amongst fire and smoke, sirens, quietly stepped over, under and through strange and scary objects. He even literally hugged the giant blown up Dragon! Versailles is trained classically in all the disciplines; he has not been forced and we have never used any sort of contraptions on him. This went right along with the philosophy of allowing this big horse to grow up before starting to work him under saddle. The result is that this horse should be able to work and be someone's riding partner for a long time as it has been proven that starting work a few years later results in significant increase in soundness at later life stages. He is very soft in the bridle, and truly responsive to seat aids. Versailles loves variety and needs fun challenges to excel in. He would do best with an experienced rider who likes keeping his brain stimulated, all the while having a blast doing just that! With all that confidence, he is no nonsense, can sometimes be a bit strong willed and he will need fair and correct leadership to be the best he is and can be. Given that, he is extremely trainable and well mannered and quite the gem with his impeccable bloodlines, he is very handsome and charismatic, almost regal even, a horse that draws eyes upon him everywhere he goes. Hashtag# the King ;-) His one half sister out of the same mother was 3 year old National reserve champion in the Westphalian breed show in Germany and the other half sister was a Subli cup winner in the Netherlands. Versailles' sire is the international Grand Prix stallion Glock's Voice who is by the famous De Niro. Versailles is very healthy, he has great hoofs and is barefoot. Price will increase with continued training. We aim for the best new partner in his life. Please don't hesitate to call to find out more, we look forward to talking with you.
