Penelope is a 16.2h draft cross mare in her mid teens that drives single, is safe in traffic, and settles in quietly enough at home for children to ride. She has a forward walk and a big, floaty trot that dressage riders dream of! She is green at the canter but it is LOVELY. Penelope loads easily into a trailer, stands tied, and lives happily with cows or other horses. She’s easy in a stall, quiet and pleasant to work with, and is overall an absolute peach to have in the barn. Penelope has scarring on her right hind that doesn’t seem to effect soundness. With recent time off and need for more exposure, I would say an intermediate+ rider would do best with this lovely girl in the ring, but she was regularly trail ridden last summer and fall by a “husband” type rider so a capable beginner may be successful with her out of the ring. With a trainer, this horse could excel in the low level dressage ring - I could see her becoming an easy lesson horse with a bit of work.
