Martini is a special mare, not only because she is gorgeous, but she has a sweet personality and really tolerates everything about her job with grace. She was started slowly with concentration on good ground manners and a natural horsemanship flare. She will stand tied all day, drop the lead and she ground ties, and you can even throw on some hobbles. Martini is a good to shoe and my 13yo son regularly handles her. She loads and trailers peacefully and you do not have to have hay in front of her, but she sure likes it. She has been down the trail with kids in tow, many miles. Last fall she entered the ranch string and has been used to gather cattle, drag calves to the fire, sort in pens and the lane. She has been tracking the dummy and does well roping some slow jerseys as of now. Martini does have a small 'mare attitude', but is never malicious or dishonest about it. She has never offered to buck or run off. It is more when the arena work gets tough, she isn't always the most willing participant, but with a little patience, she always comes through. Outside the arena, on the trail, she is always ready to go. Martini really has a lot of potential and has already had a lot of experience, she could really go in a lot of directions. Please contact us to talk about Martini, come out to the ranch, and give her a try. You will fall in love with her, as we have!
