"Kodachrome" is a strikingly beautiful, adorably loving, wonderfully brave Paint/Friesian cross gelding who stands a hair under 16 hands. He has a strong build, a gorgeous head, and three easy to ride gaits. He goes English or Western, loves trails, will go anywhere you point him, and is the least spooky horse I've ever known. Always bright and engaged, loves to do anything with people, and gives the BEST smooches! He can have lots of time off, but you get on and he acts like he was ridden the day before, walk, trot, canter, no lunging needed. Koda was sold (at a much higher price) pending a PPE to the 12 year old girl who had been leasing him for the last 9 months while I made the difficult decision to sell or not, as my chronic pain issues have prevented me from riding for some time. Koda was so good that the trainer allowed the young girl to start teaching Koda to jump, despite the girl's own lack of experience. Koda took to jumping like a duck to water, as did the girl, and they were all set to start showing this season. Koda had never shown any lameness and was doing great in every way, but the PPE revealed an almost invisible trace of arthritis in the stifles, so to keep him sound for life, a serious jumping career is not the best thing for him. Please understand that this arthritis is VERY mild (confirmed by 2nd and 3rd opinions) and should not be an issue for most people at all, and Koda has never required any maintenance. In fact, the vet who did the PPE actually told me that if she had the money, she would buy Koda, as he is so spectacular in so many ways. EVERYONE loves this horse: at a recent clinic, world-renowned trainer Mary Wanless complimented him repeatedly, saying he was "absolutely adorable" and "wonderful." The bottom line is that Koda can still excel at nearly anything (trail trials, working equitation, lower level dressage, pushing cows, etc.). He will only be sold to an excellent home with plenty of spacious turn out and other horses. And, though safe and brave, I do not recommend Koda for a beginner. Happy to answer any questions and will share x-rays with serious parties. Thank you.
