Buttercup is a beautiful 5 year old, 14.1 hand Haflinger mare. Buttercup has a babydoll face and is drop dead gorgeous. She does require an intermediate rider and is not for a child or beginner. Buttercup has just started her training. She does throw a small buck or two at the beginning of work. These bucks are easy to sit by an intermediate rider who knows to sit back and put her to work. Her personality can be more stubborn. I will not sell her as a child horse. She needs an experienced handler on the ground and under saddle. She will be a wonderful horse but her training was just started and she has the Haflinger trait of being a bit bossy ; ) She has been ridden walk, trot, canter and free jumped. She pays attention to her feet and shows potential to be trained as a low-level eventer or hunter jumper. We have not taken her out on trails. I am selling her as a project horse. The buyer must be of intermediate level in a program or someone more advanced who is looking to bring along a baby. Buttercup is completely healthy and sound with no medical concerns. Buttercup gets along with her pasture mates with no aggressive tendencies although she does tend to be an alpha so first introduction is important and proper selection of pasture mates is important. She does not have any destructive pasture or stall behaviors. She does need to have ground work and learn to not be pushy on the lead rope. She is perfect for vet and farrier, does not get pushy at the gate, is not herd bound and does not present with any sensitivity, ear pinning or poor attitude while grooming. We have 40 horses in our program and I am selling 10 to downsize. Whichever horses go first will determine who gets sold, the rest we will keep. This is your opportunity to try several horses in one spot and to have the opportunity to buy horses that would not normally be for sale. These are the horses that I searched across the country to find and now they are all in one place for your choosing. The types of horses available include: 1. Kid safe horses that are rock solid, balanced at walk, trot, canter and some that also jump. 2. Performance horses for jumping ranging from green to competing. 3. 3rd level Dressage horses 4. All horses have experience with a variety of riders, indoor arena, outdoor arena and trail riding. Contact URMINDA FIRLAN at (616) 901-9507
