Cruiser is a striking beauty and an impressive athlete. He’s a sweet 16.1 chestnut gelding. 8 years old. He is a great grandson of the famous race horse, Secretariat. He left his successful job as a race horse sound and strong. His legs are totally clean. His initial owners who cared well for him pulled him from racing at 5 years old. He has a small chip on his right knee that has NEVER bothered him, so it remains there. He’s never showed any lameness from it. Our vet says he'll probably live with it and keep performing well without any problems. He's NEVER been lame from it. Jumps right into a trailer. Good for shoer. No kick, buck or rearing. Occasional playful crow hops when he is fresh. That is it. Cruiser's second owner let him mellow out in a pasture with other horses for a year. She gelded him and sold him to a lady who wanted a barrel racing horse. Well, he wasn’t suited for that job!. We bought him in August '22. Since then we started him and then his rider (half owner) stopped riding. School, etc. was demanding and then rain started. The affordable ranch where we boarded him wouldn't allow us to ride in her arena two weeks after any rain. Well we know what this last winter was like....no riding for 4 months. I got very sick in December, lasted for months. Autoimmune disease knocked me back. January we moved him to Chalkhill ranch. Still he had no rider. Rain was flooding even their indoor arena. I worked him myself in the round pen with side reins. A few trail rides and some flat work in the sand arena. Restarted, Cruiser has been a great horse to ride in the arena and on the trail with another quiet horse.. He has no buck or rearing and is well balanced in the bridle. He is a pretty mover. He likes his job now as an English horse, loves to jump and has a sweet disposition. Truly a sweet boy. When We bought him in August of 2022, he passed the vet check with flying colors. He has amazing feet for a TB {from using Balls Solution and Farrier’s Choice supplements). His current half owner is leaving for college we have to put him up for sale. I’m 73 and just do light riding. Having CFS/ME, I have no endurance anymore. I currently have a 3 day student riding him now. He's coming along well Cruiser needs an intermediate rider with a qualified jumping trainer. This horse has super talent and had huge potential as a 3 day, jumping horse or dressage. I have him moving like a hunter now at a smooth easy pace. I will show a few videos on request. If I have your email address, I can send more updated videos as his training progresses. Contact me anytime. I won’t ship him to be tried out. (I had another TB lamed by a prospective buyer and he was brought back that way.) :-( But Trying him out several times at our stables would be great. Cruiser is currently at Chalkhill Ranch in Healdsburg. There are jumps here to use. UPDATE: we had a vet che
