Moonstruck is a sweet mare with a remarkable history. For the past 10 years, she has been owned, trained, and ridden by a 76-year-old Sr. Citizen. Her good temperament and disposition make her an excellent choice for a trail horse, especially for mounted patrol work. She has undergone extensive training and has earned the title of "Certified Mounted Patrol Horse." Moonstruck has proven herself in various situations and environments. She fearlessly patrols events and parks, accustomed to traffic, bikes (including electric bikes and motorcycles), and even dogs running up to fences. She has encountered numerous urban experiences such as bounce houses, children batting pinatas, and hikers with backpacks. Her comfort and bravery extend to the great outdoors, as she has enjoyed camping adventures, faced water crossings, navigated obstacles, and encountered wildlife like deer, cows, coyotes, and rattlesnakes. With a solid foundation in natural horsemanship, Moonstruck responds well to neck reining, backs, side passes, and leg cues. She is trained to be mounted from the ground or a mounting block. Moonstruck is sociable and enjoys being around people. She exhibits good ground manners, is cooperative with the farrier, and has healthy hooves. She also gets along well with other horses and trailers without any issues. Moonstruck is highly skilled as a trail horse, boasting comfortable gaits, sure-footedness, and impressive stamina. She walks on a loose rein and has a well-regulated energy level. Her canter is nicely collected. Whether ridden alone or in a group, she adapts effortlessly, taking on any position - front, middle, or rear. While she may display a mild whinny or two when separated from the group, it doesn't pose a significant problem. Considering her training and energy, Moonstruck is best suited for an intermediate rider. However, she has proven to be a reliable mount for riders of various skill levels, including seniors with hip, knee, shoulder replacements, back surgery etc and even a beginner 12-year-old girl. Moonstruck is truly a stunning horse, both in appearance and character.
