This is an amazing mare who is looking for her next partner. Don't let the "chestnut mare" scare you away because this horse is wonderful! I had the pleasure of working with this mare since Jan. 2023, and her owners have asked me to help them sell her. I operate The Horsemanship Academy in Aiken, SC and I needed a horse for a client to borrow for the season. They very kindly allowed me to borrow her and have been thrilled at how well she has done. They are no longer able to keep her due to their health issues. This horse easily learned liberty work and took to riding bit-less very quickly. If you are interested in learning liberty and or competing in the International Liberty Horse Assosciation Online or in Person Shows, she would be great!! She is soft in the bitless bridle and very responsive. She will also go nicely in a snaffle bit, but seems to like the freedom of bitless. She loves time in the arena or on the trail, where she is calm and confident at a walk, trot, and canter. We have only had her in english tack or bareback, but with a well fitting saddle, she would more than likely go western. She has a short back and needs a saddle that isn't too long. She has gone with us (trailering) to Hitchcock Woods where she was a saint, went in back, in front and in the middle with 6 horses. She trail rides around the farm alone or with a group. The one thing I will say about her is she does not change people very well. (this horse will not be suitable for a lesson program) I am not sure of her past as the friend bought her through an auction, but I believe someone treated her very roughly and/or she was in a lesson program that burned her out. She has bonded now with 3 people and is a love and cuddle buddy! (Unfortunately myself and the other two people already have multiple horses and don't have room for another) She even nickers when you go to get her. She is barefoot and very good for the farrier. She loves attention and is ready for her next (hopefully lifetime) partner! If you are looking for a straightforward easy riding horses and you are also interested in bonding through groundwork, this horse is for you! ** I have someone coming to video for me later this week. Will post a link here as soon as it's done.
