WATCH VIDEO! Pokey copyright’s the term “been there, done that.” Pokey has been used on a cattle operation that runs about 200,000 head of cattle/year. What does that look like you wonder? Imagine saddling up at 6 am, and unsaddling at 6-7pm- 6 days a week. This gelding has seen more, and done more than most horses ever will in a lifetime. Pokey has been in the deep brush, ranch rodeos and will follow my 1 year old daughter around like an old gentle labrador retriever. What I love most about Pokey, is that I can lay him off for 2 weeks, throw a leg over him and ride right off with such a willing, babysitter attitude. Pokey is the type of gelding that checks the most important boxes- safety, disposition, and personality. We have asked Pokey to do a little bit of anything, and everything. He has a deep stop off of your seat, fun turn arounds, and side pass. This is the type of gelding you can use for a week, or lay him off for 45 days, and he doesn’t forget a thing. He has been hauled around to the ranch rodeos, different state parks to trail ride, and ridden in the brush. He is versatile enough to work a cow, and gentle enough to relax in the woods. He is great outside the arena, carefully placing his feet to take care of his rider in any situation.
