Dennis is the coolest Friesian X Percheron 4 year old around, standing 15.2 and heavy made he is absolutely a barn favorite! First off this guys personality is A+++ he is funny, sweet and so eager to please! He keeps us laughing with his goofy antics like taking the brushes of the wall rack or trying to steal the hose and spray you with it when your filling the water tub or his stall bucket and much more he’s the class clown and we just adore him for it! He stands quietly ties single or in cross ties and is excellent to groom, handle feet and saddle up! Dennis rides English or western- in the arena or down the trail and he drives! Under saddle Dennis is soft in his chin and has nice lateral flexion as well as learning to break at the poll and travel collected in contact. Dennis moves off leg nicely and will side pass and leg field both ways. Dennis has very nice transitions and will take both leads with ease and has a wonderful “whoa” as well as a fluid back up. Dennis has been lightly started over ground poles and cross rails and lower verticals- this guy has zero refusal to him literally show him the job give him his head and he will take you over the jump! Dennis could easily be trained for hunters, jumpers or an eq horse- definitely has big potential for a field hunter, fox hunter, eventer and dressage prospect alike! Under western tack he rides just as comfortable and fun as English and shows great promise in many western disciplines too and to boot he’s a GREAT trail horse! Dennis rides alone or in a group and isn’t a horse you have to worry about having horses close behind or alongside of him. Dennis is good around dogs and equipment as well as traffic out on the hard road. Dennis will take the lead or bring up the rear and isn’t afraid to do some off roading if you need to trail blaze around fallen trees etc Dennis is great going through water, mud and over rough and uneven terrain! He negotiates steep embankments and Rocky up hill grades with confidence and will virtually go anywhere you point him. Dennis has the foundation any young horse should and the potential to go in any direction including multiple directions with his eager to please personality he would be an excellent all arounder! Dennis is behaved for both the vet and the farrier and is easy to load and haul! He requires no prep- we never even lunge just get on and go or hitch up and drive! You’ll be hard pressed to find another like him- I’m sure of it, ones like this come few and far between! Gentle, good looking, quiet and sound!!! What more can you ask for….
