Lieben is a twenty-three year old Haflinger. Although ridden in competitions, trail riding, packing, and used as a cow pony, he is no longer able as he has asthma. His asthma is controlled by Heave Ho, a natural supplement and Zyrtec, daily. He is doing quite well. Lieben is one of the most intelligent horses I have had. I trained him to retrieve objects when thrown by using the clicker method. The only reason I am placing this ad is because I have two other Haflingers and do not have time to take care of all of them. I had given LIeben to one of my neighbors over three years ago, but she returned him to me, per our agreement, if she could no longer use him for riding. I have had him since last July and I am casting about to find the perfect home for him. He is not comfortable in a stall, but needs a corral/loafing shed. He is very attached to other horses and has separation anxiety if he is alone, meaning he paces, for example, if he’s in a stall. He’s very cute, affectionate, and does not suffer fools wisely. He had befriended a goat. When my nephew was chasing the goat, Lieben went over and deliberately kicked my nephew on the shin. No damage, but he was protecting his goat.
