Rooster This big handsome guy stands about 16.1hh (we haven't had him taped just approximate) and is looking for his forever home. We adore him and have put a lot of work into him, but my daughter is focusing on barrel racing full time and although he barrel raced in his past it just isn't his thing at higher level competition. My husband wanted to keep Rooster for himself for trail riding, but unfortunately, he just doesn't have the time. Rooster loves trail riding, riding on the beach and working cows (he doesn't mind you swinging a rope off of him.) my daughter has also ridden him in English a couple times and he did great. She has also been working with him on showmanship for 4H and he did wonderful, they won reserve champion with only having about a month of practice. She also worked with him on tracking the dummy for breakaway. Rooster was a little nervous at first when the rope got tight around the dummy before it snapped, but then loved it after they did it a couple times. Don't let his age fool you. Rooster has a lot of life left ahead of him and a lot of energy and stamina. He is a 15yo going on 5. We just went on a 15 mile trail ride and he still had energy and was trying to pass my OTTB. Rooster is not a beginner horse because he has more go than whoa and needs a partner that has experience. He has and has always had full shoes and is great for the farrier. The only maintenance he needs is yearly hock injections. He is a super easy keeper and eats grass mix hay or just grass hay or pasture. He hasn't been lame once since we have owned him. This guy is super in your pocket and loves everyone. He is UTD on vaccines, feet, wormer, teeth.... We will be picky on where he goes because he truly is a great boy and deserves the best. His price is cheap for a quick and uncomplicated sale. Located in Klamath falls OR. call or text me at 541-880-4879
