Lucy- 12 yr old gaited sabino/ roan mare. Lucy is what we are all looking for- she ties, self loads, stands for the farrier and vet, bathes and hobbles. She has great ground manners and is light in a rope halter. Ive taken her to horsemanship clinics where we are the only gaited horse and shes doing manuvers better than some of the ranch horses. One thing I absolutely love about her is she will stand quietly for you to get on and wait for you to get done fiddling. She prefers a hackamore and is soft and responsive in it, she plays with a bit if she has one in but shes learning to carry one if her next person prefers it. She goes out alone on the trails and walks back home to the barn on a loose rein. She is more of a push ride and she had previously been ridden by children (unsure of their ages). She is a point and shoot type, and would be a great ladies, husband, or youth horse who know how to steer/stop confidently with soft hands. She will go anywhere in a group on the trail (lead, middle, back) and doesnt get upset if other horses get fast. Crosses bridges, water, logs, tarps, etc. My husband has taken her on overnight trips trail riding and did wonderful with her. At home she middle if the pecking order where she also is pastured with goats and cows and dosent care about them. A nice, nice mare that is here on consignment, and if I didnt own three already I would be keeping her. Utd of rabies, coggins, dental and farrier. Video will be added soon or please call/text and I can send some.
