Magic is a beautiful mare with a kind eye and a willingness to learn. I got her as a project horse and she has made great progress but, to no fault of her own, she is too much for my beginner daughter to ride and she was intended to be a 4H horse. Magic can get nervous when there are a lot of horses in the arena, but usually relaxes nicely after a few laps or with lunging for a few minutes prior to riding. She is only W/T at this point, however, we’ve been working on the canter on a lunge line and she’s making progress. She has a wonderful posting trot, is quite with her mouth and you can tell she really tries. Her biggest set back is that she seems unsure of herself and what you are asking her to do. Once she gets it though it becomes a much easier task. She just needs someone to help boost her confidence. We currently have her at a very busy lesson barn and I think she would do better in arenas with less horses or on the trail. It was a difficult decision to sell her, but after careful consideration of my daughter’s desire to get into 4H and showing we decided to find her a new, loving home.
