Indio - This horse is truly hard to capture the essence of in words. Above all and perhaps most important, Indio is kind. He will patiently stand all day at team roping and happily partake (although current owner doesn't know how to rope - her friends hop on him to heel and he does quite well). He's been used to gather cattle most recently, opens gates, crosses water...a true ranch horse. Oh, and he'll take care of you when you've had one too many and decide to hop on bareback and in a halter (yes - it's happened more times than we'd like to admit!). He is largely unfazed and incredibly kid/grandparent/husband safe although when asked, he'll get up and go! When you take Indio out, people notice, compliment constantly on his good looks and overall presence which can't help but draw attention. Indio will hack out on the trail and go all day, alone or in a group. Kids kick balls around him, between his legs, you have it...he won't move. He knows how to park out on command so one can easily mount from the ground. At 7 years old, the world is his oyster and he can truly go in any direction. He has bone for days and would easily carry a larger rider. He interestingly paces at the walk and is very comfy, smooth trot and canters like a big dude, but smooth. Recent PPE and X-rays of the front hooves/legs show a happy and healthy horse. He has shoes but only because the ground is so hard where he's located and drop dead gorgeous big feet. Video coming and plenty of photo available upon request.
